Winter Band Concert
Mill River Union High School Bands' Winter Concert December 12, 2007
Wednesday night at 7:00 the Mill River Union High School Bands Program will proudly present its second public performance of this school year, in a concert titled "Polar Expressions", in the Mill River Union High School Auditorium. Admission is open to the public with no admission fee (although donations to the music program are always appreciated). Five of Mill River's Bands, including two Jazz Ensembles and three Concert Bands will be performing three to five selections each, and each selection is certain to spark the spirit of the season for all who are able to be present !
The Senior Band has been preparing a medley that presents the music from the movie inspired by Chris Van Allsburg's Caldecott Award winning book, "The Polar Express", along with holiday music made popular by "Mannheim Steamroller", and other seasonal television favorites from "Peanuts" & "Rudolph" & "Frosty" . The Eighth Grade Band is working on titles like "Carol of the Bells", "Greensleeves" and "The Nutcracker Suite Petit". The Seventh Grade Band has been rehearsing a beautiful original work called "December Sky", in addition to "Winter Wonderland" , and "Jingle Jazz". Among the selections being prepared by the Jazz Band are "My Favorite Things", "When I Fall In Love", and "On Green Dolphin Street". Jazz Lab has been preparing "Misty", "Hey Jude", and "Kansas City Breakout" .
