The UnOfficial Mill River UHS Website

Good Evening

This is a completely UnOfficial website. The Mill River School Board has not "sanctioned" this website and what's posted here hasn't gone through the Principals' office. (Actually, most of it has - it's public information and handouts). This website is run by us: Webguys ( webguys@mruhs.org ).

Pictures

Championships, D III
We're starting pictures again. See the sidebar for the link or click that little picture right there. We've got a bunch of soccer games and some football. Anyone else taking pictures? Videos?

It's UnOfficial

... and we can't, apparently, say that enough. While UNOFFICIAL, this website should be useful (and hopefully interesting) for all of our visitors. Faculty (and some students) have the ability to post announcements, homework list, files for classes and other useful information. Of course, they won't because they apparently have so many other options available to them already that parents are overwhelmed with information. How's that working out for you?

The Tone

This website is UNOFFICIAL; there will be a more informal tone to what is posted here. We will have official forms and such, but also other writings that our members put up. There could be parents who will write blogs just as they could on LiveJournal, but since they are here you can find them. We will still have to abide by confidentiality rules and rules of proper behavior, of course, but sports photos will be available and we are hoping to get a student to blog about the school and about the teams and activities as well. In general, we hope to put together a website where we can have better communication and the community can see what is going on and feel more in tune with and more supportive of all that our students are doing.

The responsibility for the material presented in blogs lies with the poster, not necessarily the Webguys ( webguys@mruhs.org ). Teachers are still bound by confidentiality rules, regardless of whether they are posting here or LiveJournal or Blogger or some other site. If there is something that fails the FERPA test, you need to contact the teacher, student or parent who posted it. If you can't achieve a resolution that way, send an email to both the Principal and to us and we'll see what we can do. The First amendment does not stop at the classroom door, but FERPA does place some limits on it.

Photographs will be limited in the following ways: teachers are asked not to post photos of students in the classroom, but may post pictures of projects and classrooms. Photos taken at public events such as athletics and shows are fine, with the exception being made in Theater/ Band concerts where the request of no flash photography has been made or where copyright violations are possible. General Rule: if the Rutland Herald can publish it with a name, so can you.

Content

Have we missed something? Is there something you'd like to see? Let us know. All information here is provided for public consumption, non-commercial, educational use by our local communities. Copyright remains in the hands of the person who generated the material. If you have any questions or would like to discuss an alternate use for the media within these pages, please let us know.

Thank You
